Tuesday, 6 September 2016 - Brisbane - Los Angeles - Vancouver

A final repack of the luggage last night, a check weigh to confirm we will meet all 3 carriers' requirements. Despite all the preparations, it was still a late night. Thank you to Clint for picking us up at 8:00am Brisbane time and dropping us to the airport.

We're almost there. I'm starting this page while we sit in LA International waiting to fly to Vancouver. We booked an afternoon flight to Vancouver in case of delays but Brisbane to LA was smooth and on time. We were through Customs and walked to the different terminal for the Vancouver flight in under 90 mins leaving a 5 hours wait to board. We noted that one piece of luggage had a "Security Check" sticker from Brisbane. Must have had to check what the helmets were.

Everything going according to plan so far, USA SIM cards went into our phones and all systems activated and worked as promised. No sooner on-line than messages started coming in from Thommo and Gail who we hope to catch up with tonight as they are also over here and by chance have a lay-over in Vancouver tonight.

Late leaving LA due to a flight crew medical emergency but a 1 hour delay was reduced to 30 minutes by the time we arrived. Phones still working once reactivated in Canada so all good. Caught the shuttle to our accommodation and here we are.

Thommo and Gail caught the train to near where we are staying, just a short walk through the River Rock Casino car park and we had dinner at the casino. Imagine travelling all this way to have dinner with friends we regularly have dinner with back home.

We've also made non-physical contact regarding the bike and all is under control.

Tomorrow a quick look around Vancouver and do some more preparations.
